George Valenzuela

Since 2000, George Valenzuela has served as president and CEO of Intelligent Evolution, Inc., a full-service IT company that specializes in website development, search engine optimization (SEO), custom software solutions, cybersecurity, and more. A skilled project manager and strategic thinker, he partners with trade and professional associations, government, and local businesses to listen to what their challenges are and devise smart solutions that fit every budget. Clients often share how great George is at troubleshooting thorny issues, reframing challenges as opportunities, and explaining technical jargon so his clients are informed and understand the decisions ahead.

George concurrently serves as vice president for ASCENT Management, LLC, an association management company that provides full-service association management services for a variety of local and national associations. He specializes in advising on technology matters not limited to website development and marketing, event management, IT infrastructure, database management, and project management.

George also co-founded Next Level Networking, a networking group for seasoned individuals, entrepreneurs, and business owners to connect and learn.

An active member of the Alexandria community, George has volunteered and held many leadership positions within the community. He has served as president of the West End Business Association, president of the Rotary Club of Alexandria Central, and chairman of the Alexandria City Public Schools Career and Technical Education Advisory Committee. He has also served on the board and in leadership positions in Alexandria City Public School Board Advisory Committee, Association Management Companies Institute, American Society of Association Executives, Rotary Club of Alexandria, Rotary Club of Alexandria West, Rotary Club of Alexandria Central, and Washington, DC, University of Florida Alumni Club.

Prior to starting his own business, George served in several positions as a project manager for software, consulting, and engineering firms, where he honed his skills in leading teams and keeping projects with many moving parts on track and on budget. He earned a Bachelor of Science from Marymount University in business management.

In his spare time, he enjoys catching up with friends and family, snowboarding, road and gravel bike rides, scuba diving, spearfishing, and visiting DC’s hottest new restaurants with his wife. One thing you might not know about George is that he logged 8,000 miles on his bike in one year!
