FairCo – Selling to Fairfax County 8/20/20

The Fairfax County Dept. of Procurement & Material Management hosts a bi-monthly workshop for vendors called “Selling to Fairfax County.”  The workshop targets prospective vendors who are interested in learning about the Fairfax County procurement process. The workshop is roughly an hour and a half, with plenty of time for questions and networking at the end. Topics include

  • How the County’s business opportunities are advertised (eVA),
  • The mechanics of the County’s procurement process from informal to formal solicitations (IFBs/RFPs),
  • The County’s supplier diversity program and resources such as our Contract Register (a search engine for current county contracts).

Although specific to Fairfax County, the content is an excellent primer on the government procurement process in general.

“The CBP counselors and volunteers have been instrumental in helping me increase my knowledge and confidence in business ownership. Because of their guidance, I’ve been able to expand my practice and move into a larger facility with more employees.”
