SCORE: Tips on Negotiating a Commercial Lease

A commercial lease is one of the most important agreements you will ever sign and negotiating a favorable lease places your business in a position to succeed. Remember that a Commercial Lease is prepared by the Landlord in favor of the Landlord. Your responsibility as a potential Tenant is to read it completely, understand what it says, and then ask for modifications that will favor you.
