The Community Business Partnership is proud to be a US Small Business Administration Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC).
Military experience is a stronger predictor of entrepreneurship than graduate education. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur or small business owner seeking to start, purchase, or grow your business, the Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC) Program is your one-stop shop.
The VBOC at Community Business Partnership provides entrepreneurial development services such as training, counseling, and access to capital for members of the military community (including all era Veterans, active duty personnel, National Guard, Reservists and military spouses) who may be considering starting a small business or looking to grow an existing business.
If you are looking for assistance outside our region, please visit the SBA’s interactive map to find your local VBOC.
Our VBOC proudly serves the National Capital Region and beyond; including 1.4 million veterans in:
Dr. Les Taylor serves as the Director of the National Capital Region’s Veterans Business Outreach Center (VBOC). As a thought-leader in his field, Les provides the vision and leadership for promulgating the SBA’s Boots-to-Business (B2B) entrepreneurship and related training in Northern Virginia, Washington DC, Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania.
Created by the SBA, Boots to Business is a two-day entrepreneurial education curriculum that is an elective track within the Department of Defense’s revised Transition Assistance Program (TAP). The curriculum provides valuable assistance to transitioning Service members exploring business ownership or self-employment. In addition, participants are introduced to SBA resources available to help access start-up capital and additional technical assistance.
Reboot is an extension of Boots to Business, delivering the same information and benefits to veterans, members of the National Guard and Reserves, and military spouses in more accessible off-base locations.
Founded in 1985, the ninety-four Procurement Technical Assistance Centers form a nationwide network of government procurement professionals that acts as a bridge between government buyers and suppliers.
